Picture Show...

The memories stack up
each one having it's own place
I can remember all the laughs
each and every face

I didn't take many pictures
of the sadness and the toil
For I'd rather not remember
as I shuffle on this coil

There is enough of grief
troubles and the woes
The world's too short in joy
as everybody knows

So look at these scenes, my friend
see the gladness and the fun
I remember all the good times
we had troubles on the run

It seems so long ago
it seems like yesterday
I can't forget and yet
I don't know how, time has slipped away

Memories are meant to be kept especially when they are of sweet good times spent with special ones. A beautifully crafted poem, nice rhymes. Thanks for sharing, Geezer.

One picture can bring back a thousand of them. Time certainly seems to go quicker and quicker. When I was younger, it seemed to go so slowly. Good write, good flow.

Keep Writing,
Carrie

"Quoth said the Raven, NEVERMORE"

My laps top is overloaded
can't keep pace with my mind
what am I to do
can't erase
lovely memories of time
far distant
up North mostly

jungles and beaches
nudity of humans and tees
you skipped mine
misfortune
is mine
bad memory
still won't erase it!

life is but a stream
of visions in your head,
a constant vivid dream
from which you wake up dead...

...so best you get your skates on
and picture every slide
round the bulb, above the cutting floor
before the dream's denied.

I think it is a great poem.
The rhythm is perfect for the purpose.
The quiet sadness of your voice
reaches the depth of my conscience, it calls.
I like it also because myself
I don't remember many moments
and only know that my life was long and funny.
