Not Even Light

Between stations, snow.
Bryson said one percent of the dancing static
is left-over from the big bang.
That's useful information,
maybe aliens or gods are trying to make
contact
but we're too busy watching
the other three hundred stations,
filling our heads with escapism
while life is lost on the living ninety-nine
per cent and the one percent takes it all.

However, even stars die and leave black
holes where nothing escapes, not even
light.

Last few words:
Last night this quote was posted to Warrior Poet, a group to which I belong. I read it this morning and wrote the above poem. One never knows from where inspiration comes. "Incidentally, disturbance from cosmic background radiation is something we all have experienced. Tune your television to any channel it doesn't receive, and about 1% of the dancing static you see is accounted for by this ancient remnant of the Big Bang. The next time you complain that there is nothing on, remember that you can always watch the birth of the universe.” ― Bill Bryson

"Alien Gods making contact

filling our voices with escapism
While life stifles on the ninety nine
taken by the vibrant one per cent

stars die and leave black tears
weeping their light escape
quiet and taken "

just my adjustment to your fine works Kailashana
Thank you

Indeed, dear Esker. you have the ability, the heart to turn every reply into a *dance*.

Your depth now expanding into the structure of the universe, an excellent write.
Yes White light on untuned TV channels remnants of Evolution, now yesterday they say they have found the Hick's partical... Where next ??
Maybe they should look for some way of curing Poverty and homelessness
this could prove more popular than looking for and finding something we will never see, Yours Ian.T

PS:- Brilliant find though lol

.
There are a million reasons to believe in yourself,
So find more reasons to believe in others..

(Heart of darkness for certain)

This is a perfect poetical explanation to the problems this planet faces, Ian also hits it on the head with his answer. We're to busy looking in, as we miss the wonders of this planet and universe. Great poem. Love Roscoe..

Roscoe Llane,

Religion will rip your faith off, and return
for the mask of disbelief that's left.

The wonder of the Hubble and Seti and Hawking and Sagan. I read them like instructions to build plastic airplane models. Geniuses far beyond where I will ever be. The question is in looking at the nature of the universe we know, where it's a melee of flesh-tearing and mental destruction. The stong survive?
Cool for now, but we expect ET or Close Encounters of the Third. I'm not sure who or what is out there, but it will burn the ants with a cosmic magnifying glass. We the ants. Unless the hopeful mythologies weren't written to to stave off mass suicide.

Well concieved and interesting poem, you always seem to hit a chord with me.
Thanks so much.
