To My Fear

Every day I wake up
To hell.
The constant hustle,
I know Too well.

I sense a darkness close
And near.
Is this something I
Should fear?

I am full of anger, I can feel
The hate.
This is my hand dealt
By fate

Another day turns into
Another night.
In the dark, never see
The light.

I try and break the chain,
I am free.
I can still hear the anguish
Of my plea.

I am at the ready for
A fight.
I am always seeking to
Find the light.

This disease stares back
At me.
This haunting feeling won't
Let me be.

The disease is stronger
Then stone.
It lives deep within
The bone.

The foundation has
A big crack.
If I fall, I won't make
It back.

Surrounded by silence,
Yet I listen.
The disease and I are
In opposition.

I am not able to surrender
To my fear.
I have conquered the demons
That live here.

To my fear.

conquering ones fear is not an easy thing to do. for fear can freeze you in your tracks and leave you broken. I see you have taken care of yours. I like your title and the flow of the poem. your execution is excellent. It is nice to see you posting more.

Hello, Turbo,
On my fridge, I have a small picture of an angel-child with wings getting ready to take first flight. The caption reads: "What if I fall?" "Oh, but my darling - what if you FLY?!" I really like some of the words used here: I am free, always seeking the light, conquered the demons. Great language that signifies the message in the poem. Have you thought of writing the poem as if you are speaking directly to fear itself? The title kinda-sorta suggests that. An encouraging and relatable poem.

Fear is for snow for the cold whispers at night.
You have every reason to fear but fear is not for human because that's not the solution.
