Marital Bliss

I have been clean shaven
but was a cat's whiskers
even till now

she has tolerated me
our marriage @53

we both are very lucky
save roses says she
now they are so costly
Ah passionate we still can be
Honey your poetry is
shall we say..

just right. (only the mmm is a bit off to me ...maybe ummm, or hmmmm, or better, "shall we say" which would be a nice rhyme to "lovely".

There is much truth behind this poem. Being in that situation, I bless that my wife is not a poet, nor really interested in poetry. (Now she's a photographer, but was an exceptional textile graphic artist, one of the best ). Good lord, two poets in the same bed...how long can that last??

what a nice poem. tight, and original. a great intro. I totally "grok" (as said in Stranger in a Strange Land...I think our generation would remember that!))
