great apes behind the prisons of our eyes

Cognitive dissonance,
now there's a word that
has no association by the
mind and its blind spot,
regardless of the facts
presented or if your
mileage may vary depending
on how well your vehicle is tuned
and how big the engine is.

That little brown house wren
perched on the maple tree's smallest limb,
singing and singing
his even smaller heart out doesn't care
if humans resolve their disassociation
from each other and how nothing is wasted
on those who have ears to hear and eyes
to see.

You can't yell wolf when you're caught
in the act of killing sheep.

Don't ask me what I'm talking about unless
you really want to know.

but I think I've a good beginning.
One can cry "wolf" when caught killing the sheep. Our politicians do it on a regular basis, although I was thinking more along the lines of the cry of a bull ape in victory. wesley

A poet is a nightingale, who sits in darkness and sings to cheer its own solitude with sweet sounds. Percy Bysshe Shelley

apart from the last 3 weeks where I've been sick almost unto death, possibly a stroke.

But before that, and this, you are writing prose, not poetry.

Your content is superb as always, but look at this-

(it only lacks punctuation)

You are not using any poetic devices. You claim you are too old to learn or blame your ethnic heritage but that is a weak cop out. Why do you think I have not invited you to my recent workshops? You argue, obstruct and don't even really try. I am deeply disappointed.

You are better than this.

Dear Jess, I write and post because I write and post. Sometimes there's a twinge of regret because no one comments, but that's the least of my concerns, I'm too busy to be that self-centered and/or to workshop. Whether good, bad, or indifferent, I write every day. Your position is yours alone, if you don't find poetry in it, who am I to sway your thinking although I reject your claim? I just like to explore all types of writing, and am open to whatever comes through me.

Story telling through the vehicle of poetry is an art. I read your last "poem" and imo, just because it rhymes, doesn't make it poetry in my book unless you see the poetry in my recent work. And if you don't, that's ok too.
I'm just exploring my options.....it's just because I've never blamed anything on my heritage or age that I am so able.

You have to hear all types of birdsong, though you might like the nightingale better than the meadowlark.

I am sick tired and cranky.

I love you dearly and always respect your Boddhisvata nature.

Nevertheless, poetry is poetry and prose is prose.

I will try to find my goodness again.

cheers,
Jess
