Fear Not Death

Death is like a dentist’s injection
fear of long needle
brought from behind
dentists back
a jab
a slight ouch pain
then all ends

so does this happen with life,
I have physically experienced
ten minutes of death
from being…
to nothingness

sorry no heaven
no hell
no death
neither angels
nor Gods
nor any wife or friend
just none at all
a dead rat- like experience
that's all

so be not afraid
of what has to be
read above my deadly
death like poetry
will ye

when you fade away
do so with glee
you will continue to live in the hearts
of guys like me

so be it!

afraid of nothing at all... They just didn't give you anything, like visions of wife, friends or long tunnels with light and stuff, because they figured you were coming right back and would blab all over about what you saw. It's supposed to be a secret! And what kind of dentist hides the needle behind his back and suddenly jabs you with it? That could get him hurt!.

Hello, Lovedly,
I don't fear death, either, but I pray for as little suffering as possible for all of us. I hope you are mistaken about the nothingness of the afterlife, but you pass along great wisdom in fading away with glee. Much to think about here, Lovedly, especially since I have a dental appointment soon. :)
Thank you!
Lav

I've experienced death more than once, and I can say my experience was very different I have researched the phenomenon and yeah, the experts say the brain plays a sort of trick on us as we die. But I actually don't believe that I believe in this big, beautiful universe (that is constantly moving) I see it as a living enitity, we aren't here for nought we aren't just a cosmic accident, or maybe we are an accident called a miracle? An accident of some greater thing, look at the universe its constantly growing, we have a purpose whatever that purpose is I can't tell you. Even if you don't believe in a *God*, I always think of the Heliosphere and the magnetic bubble our planet is encased in that protects us from all the dangers in the universe and it always gives me pause and makes me think of the deeper, richer meaning that surrounds us every day, it's a shame that others can't see the magnificence of the world we have been gifted and are destroying with hate and greed.

I am reflective today I guess, sorry for the very long ramble, Did I say this is one of your very best poems, if the dentist hid a needle from me and came at me on the sly I'd probably punch him in the face lol but that's just me Haha

love and hugs Jayne xx

I have experienced death a couple of times. the first time I remember very well. I was floating above myself (in the hospital) I'd had a major operation; a hysterectomy. in those days it was a big deal as they had no shortcuts. I floated up to the ceiling and was ready to take off in flight. that is when someone interfered, and pulled me back. I felt a big SNAP to my spine, and all of that lovely feeling of freedom was forcefully taken from me...I was then back on the operating table and in great pain, not in my body, but in my mind. I found out later, it was Norma (my biological mother) who pulled me back to life. I began a total breakdown I sobbed my heart out! it took me a very long time to forgive her for that.

the second time was pretty violent and bloody. an ulcer ate into an artery in my stomach. and it was like Linda Blair, only with blood instead of pea soup. I was at my doctors office when it burst out. they managed to get me to the hospital by ambulance. where they got me mended and a transfusion of blood.but not before I died. I was dead for 4+ minutes. after resuscitation they gave me an injection of something to make me forget everything. that really made me angry as I wanted to remember what happened after reaching the hospital. they took that away from me. but I must say, Steven was with me, never swerving..

This is a deep write and I did not know you had gone through this experience, if I am reading this correctly. I feel and believe our soul and our spirit forever lives on after our physical body departs this earthly realm and I am a firm believer of the afterlife. I have had a few experiences where my loved ones came to me in flight and is hard to put in words how that felt just yet. I follow this one psychic that has been notarized for her solving some cold cases in the crime community. It is just amazing what she sees and tells and surely amazes me when they find these people or children who were taken from us. Just recently there was a case here in the USA of the college students. She has did some readings that are chilling and when that trial starts I will be glued to the television and if they find out exactly the same thing she seen and read in her readings I will be astonished once again.

Spirit is all around us. Some may call it something different and that is the beautiful thing about adversity and beliefs too, whichever one is comfortable with is more a personal thing but loved sharing this piece of work here with you. Happy to read you again.

Much Love - Ms Mona

ps I thought you were female and sorry I addressed you that way before. I was mistaken. Hard to tell by the poets name sometimes, but like to know to address folks in a proper manner.

Each one suffers in one's own way
I have learnt from all of you You believe in what you believe
I am a scientist barely a poet
and twain can't meet

I have two options
either to delete all this
or you may advise me what to do

IQ VS EQ
Which ?
we all have no proof!!!

author comment

Please do not delete. Your intriguing poem has stirred much thought and consideration. Isn't that what poetry does? I would feel that I've lost something of all of us if you delete...

As a scientist you would know that in the ages before science was regarded as a kind of magic and I believe if my memory serves was banned by the Vatican. In a few hundred years who knows what belief system will hold. But in saying that for most of human time we have believed in some idea of a God or gods. Be it fire gods or Jesus.

Never delete its always interesting to read others ideas ideals and beliefs. Which is all welcomed here at Neo

I used to hem and haw about deleting poems and I did do just that quite a few times. I think even from this site after the crash, but now if do put pen to paper and write anything I write for not only myself and my so called audience. Therefore I am willing to hear their opinions or critiques or thoughts or bla bla you know because they are just another person perspective or opinion. I never let folks sway me one way or the other. I listen and I accept people for where they are and who they are, regardless of their belief or non belief system(s) I would not delete it Loved because it is your writing and only YOU totally understand the feelings going on behind YOUR words.

Your readers love you just the way you are and what you write. The poem is just fine. And now I find myself writing too much commentary lol

Big hugs my friend. I am happy to read you again. Keep it going.

It's getting hot ...lol I love that one! I will visit as much as I can to your page but time is taking me away to tending to the house issues. It is always something with the house. The house of words never gets old and you just hang in there my friend and keep on keeping on. I hope to get that urge to write more and feels like once you get started it is in you and tugs at you until you find that moment in time to put the pen to paper once again.
Hugs out to you my friend
