Hummingbirds of memory
float then fleetly flee my mind
like drifting foliage from fall trees
a forecast of what will be
as Alzheimers slowly rapes my mind
my mind?

Mmmm Mmmmm Mmmmmmmmmm!!!
There is a positive side of getting in with the old timers.
There can be delicious-as-fresh-fruit breakfast times.
(Mmm-mmmm good!)
The mind is not laboring overtime.
There is time to travel the Inner Worlds.
THEY really come to visit you.
And time is not of the essence.
Amen. No, I mean Awomen
(It is the age of the feminine impulse.)
(There is no raw war, no duality duels
among the critique freaks here.)

Always nice to see a new face. And memories Are a delight to review at times. And I can't imagine what it must be like to slowly lose them and Know it's happening........stan

Hummingbirds!
they say night time was is the best
for people with the alzeihmers
we are wires and circuits
our minds reception and broadcast
the white fuzz of the screen
and the static hiss
with occasinal weird clarity
and remembered heard
long distant things of importance
like Humminbirds..

good reminder...think I will buy
my Babe here Im visiting today
a hummingbird feeder
for the front stoop
over the little box garden!

thank U

Hummingbirds are a delight and are a lot of fun to use in poetry. It IS about the time of year to put their feeders out too.......stan

its my alziemers...been working on positive...
instead of I hate the weather
..I hate the bus being late...
I hate that tone of voice..
Ive been working on
the passive agressive
with oft humorous thought association
...
I remember an aunt that had this
an uncle who cared for her
she made us cookies
our cottage was across from
theirs...she was always laughing
and her mind bright
but in the disease she would
get out from the cottage
and try to just go swimming
walking off....stuff like that..

actually music they say is the
last thing often..

I also had an aunt who had this. She went from being a great teacher to being unable to even talk. So sad. And for a while she Knew what was happening which made it even worse.........stan

I knew an old timer (if old can mean in her sixties) who received the gift of Alzheimers even tho she had published a number of books, could talk to crowds of thousands and had a staff to wait on her hand and foot and food-for-mouth. A channeler (Kim Michaels) said he contacted her after she died and she said she was simply being prepared for the afterlife during those years she was becoming less and less conversant with this material plane. Whatever, the fear and doubt and hate-the-creeping-enemy swirling around this experience is probably counterproductive. Levity can help us arise over this mere bump in the road to inner success, as Swami Beyondananda could quip here. Couldn'ya?

A sense of humor would be helpful up to a point for both patient and care givers. But it kinda loses its shine after a point........stan

Alzheimers

no ...not you

Alzheimers

A disease which leaves the mind while destroying the body Might be worse. But to have Ahlzheimer's and know you have it and know what it will lead to is something I'd not tolerate for long. I don't think I'd put my family through it. There'd be a small article in local papers about yet one more lethal hunting accident............stan
