COOKERS AND PRESSURE

I dressed two hares this morning
harvested on a morning stroll
through a near silent peaceful pasture
just as dawn gave way to day.

They were tough and old and lean
unlike I (at least the lean part)
so now they will tenderize
in the pressure cooker
which has yet to come to a boil.
So I leave them be,
go to my familiar recliner,
turn on the tube.

Riots, looting, protests, death
here within our melting pot.
Worse than I have ever seen
in my 67 years.
Thank God I live near a small town.
Damned useless politicians.

There goes the whistle!
as steam escapes the cooker.
With a groan I arise
to cap the steam.

Of course the cap lets some steam out.
So back to the tube.
More killings in Chicago;
and D.C.;
and New York.
Arson in Portland,
Just another day.....

Well if I must hear of guns and smoke
I'll change channels and watch Gunsmoke
where at least Matt Dillon and the good guys win
and I can think of

things.

TOOT! the pressure is too high
so I go turn the heat down.
Don't want the pressure to build too high
lest the cooker blow to the sky.

Back to T.V.
NEWS BREAK
D.C. has decided to print more money
BTW a black child has been killed.....gang related.
Matt is now back drinking coffee
and I think
of pressure cookers
with no heat control.....

I am going to assume, that Matt is the morning-show host? I like the way that you have relegated the black-child to beneath
a comment about the government printing more money, as though it is of the least importance to the world. Nothing that I would change. ~ Geez.

This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

Nope. Matt Dillon of Gunsmoke. And I'm pleased the fact that the media attaches almost no importance to black on black crime came through. Thanks for dropping by
