We maintain the struggle
it’s almost the same one
as in all our previous year.
We continue to persevere
in much the same ways
since February.

We have survived, somehow.
That virus left us alone
to contemplate how we did it
with eyes wide open.
Our families ever more
important than any moments before.

Last January is forgotten
lost amongst the detritus
of infections, deaths, finger-pointing.
Time, noting it’s losses, continues
so even despite all of that
time heals, forgives, and passes.

Review Request (Intensity):
I want the raw truth, feel free to knock me on my back
Review Request (Direction):
What did you think of my title?
How was my language use?
How does this theme appeal to you?
How was the beginning/ending of the poem?
Is the internal logic consistent?

author comment

time does forgive and heal and no one stops the march of time... it passes." The Christmas Letter " sounds like something that you would send to a dear friend or relative. ~ Geez.
