Ask Me To Dance

Ask me to dance.
Reach for my hand and lead me
across the floor.
Pause, then pull me close.
Closer.

Hold me like a hungry kiss
as the rhythm of my breath slows down
settling some place between your body and mine,
warm and captive, yet somehow
unshackled.

Rest your hand
on the small of my back
where your touch excites my skin
and my inhibitions become
unlaced.

Ask me to dance.

these lines of your exquisite poem are my favorites:

Hold me like a hungry kiss
as the rhythm of my breath slows down
settling some place between your body and mine,
warm and captive, yet somehow
unshackled.

I would not change a word of it! I love it all! Cat

I'm a romantic when it comes to dancing, which I haven't done in a very long time. Aah, well!

A perfect description of asking someone you admire and want to know, to dance. There was this girl at the school dance...
Exactly how I felt! Like Cat, I wouldn't change a thing. ~ Geez.
