After the Kama Sutra

Well, here it is
two years after
the Kama Sutra;
we tried all the positions
bending towards this or
that, hands shackled to
thighs and mouths hungry
for the want not-waste not
religion
of flesh.
Not even wet sheets came between
us.

Not even one mountain we climbed
was less
than ten miles high
but you and I can't measure the good with the
bad as if we could
surgically remove
the coming death blow:

sheer boredom, and the slide down
was on the slippery side of a
book with dog-eared pages.

Desert songs carry no weight
of a mermaid's voice. And the river
blurs in the distance with regret.

In the house of the Nelumbo nucifera,
each blush petal unfolds in wild water; the blackbird's
feather, in comparison falls
softly
and cuts as sharply as a dull blade.

I was surprised by the tone of this work. I expected a funny jaunt I guess and what I got was an almost mournful, disappointed, extremely well written piece that is holding something back because it can. What's shown excels most poems, but the mermaid is still singing her song unheard under the surface. I for one would love to hear what she has to say.

before the brooch pin, before the salve, fixed me in this parenthesis:
Horses fluent in the wind. A place, a time gone out of mind."

My mermaid has spoken many times before. But she'll speak later today when the 24 hr rule is complied with.

Thanks for your *interesting* remark, Ron. You rock. I roll.

Just what to say is the question on a piece that has dog eared pages, and lost meanings in many worlds that some of us tried but fell short.
(This is not biographical lol)
Out of the Mermaids voice will probably come the sounds of, I have tried love except love its self, then it fell short and the feelings of missing something out there, reared its ugly head again.
Maybe the book of just holding hands in the quiet of an empty room, would surpass all the dog eared books there are,

You know me, Ian. Nothing lasts a long time. It is what it is, and then it passes. It's of no use to hang on to anything anyway, everything passes too quickly.

All but the love the changes faces.

Not even the stars are permanent, the heavens are there or are they.
Do we fight or flee, I think we should just enjoy the show,
