First let me welcome all the members who have joined over the past 6 months. i hope you find your time here to be a rewarding experience.
You new folks may have heard or will hear that there is an anthology book of site members in the works. This "rumor" is true. Over the next few weeks select members will be asked to submit 3 of their favorite poems to a member of the book committee for consideration for inclusion in the book. Of the 3 poem each contributor submits at least one will be included in the book. the poets who are asked to contribute will be charged nothing for being in the book and thus become a published poet. That's the good news.
Now the bad news. Publishers charge on a per page basis for publishing a book. And the person funding this project does not have unlimited funds. Hence it has been decided that due to budgetary constraints that only authors who have been here a minimum of 6 months and who are active in both posting poetry and giving commentary will be asked to contribute to the book. (By the way, all profits from the sale of this book, if any, will be given to the site.
But take heart. There may well be a yearly book project in the future and if that happens it's likely that those asked to contribute poems will have to once more be a member of at least a set number of time and also an active member. So just stay active and You may well be included if another book is put together. i wish that ALL members could be included but so it goes............stan (scribbler)
