TINY NOOKS

There's spaces in between the atoms
which make up our familiar world
take care when you consider them
lest into their recesses you be hurled

These chinks, too tiny to be seen
hold realities best left alone
populated by strange denizens
made of something not quite flesh and bone

When the walls between grow weak
and those looking, chance to see
a glimpse of other universes, near
they convey strange tales to you and me

Perhaps the ones we deem insane
are just those with special sight
who've seen what they should never have
and been blinded by the light

And in many ways a poem I would have loved to written myself (what higher praise can an arrogant SOB give?)

But. I've always got a but, don't I? I can't help thinking in solid science, it's where most of my best poetry is inspired from, and without the "Tiny Nooks" what do you get? A Black Hole. I would really like to see Black Holes acknowledged here in some form. Here's a hint- the word "singularity" is not too un-poetic, or maybe even "event horizon".

cheers,

Good ol' physics, the study of the very small and very large. I have the belief that black holes are where matter is removed from this universe and quazars are where the same matter is returned in the form of energy. And perhaps a fit subject for a different poem............stan

I re -read the poem and found that you had found a place for mysteries much more interesting than Black Holes.

Perhaps Black Holes occurr when we cease to believe in the mysteries.

they covey strange tales to you and me [convey?]

Jess

There are scientists who believe that myriad alternate universes exist within the spaces between atoms and are only unseen because they vibrate at a different wave length. Thanks for the convey catch by the way.........stan
