THE WRATHFUL SEA

Her salted bludgeoning maw
swallowed vessels and galleys
with its green saline gullet of
ulcers
barnacles, and a throat full of oily
spots of acne sticky limpets

Treasures guarded by a circle
of sharks in an ocean restaurant
pinching crabs,
and swaying seaweed keeping naval
secrets.

A wave of wrathfulness, tossing
clubbing, floating ships, drowning
them into the abyss.
stripping seamen Into
skeletons with silent screams.

Supported by a howling killer
of a storm . Ripping, blowing holes
into arthritis wooden decks into oblivion
into the coldest dark depths.

Grandiose Majestic Mountain

There stood a majestic
Craggy face with razor blade
Edges of a monstrous
time honoured mountain

Turning its rocky nose up
at anything below him, robust
Jagged and risky, high stabbing
armour with White shark tip
Cut throated fins.

Bald rugged with a silent manner
cold stone as white as marshmallow
steep and strong, bold and old
broad frosted shoulders

With powdered freckles and a storm grey
complexion it wore a white necklace
and a frosted crown, made
by heaven.

AUTUMN'S CUSP

Mid October a cool day
with a northern cooling breeze.
All hints of summer gone away.
The few green leaves are just a tease.

Tomorrow will bring the first frost
so this day finds me 'neath the trees
absorbing warmth before its lost
and limbering up titanium knees.

For I'm not what I once was.
Time has seen that I am not,
So I sit on a stump to take a pause
and breathe autumn's scent which I'd forgot.

Then turn my face up to the sky
as cool front winds begin to blow.
I watch the clouds as they race by.
They leave like friends I used to know.

My eyes water from sun's glare
so I drop my head down to my chest
letting my chin settle there
while I count the ways that I am blessed.

I'm blessed with our cabin in the trees
I'm blessed with seeing one more fall.
I'm blessed with grandchildren to tease.
I'm blessed with being here at all.

I watch a squirrel climb to its nest
for now the sun is getting low
so ere' it reaches ridge's crest
I arise then turn and go.

 Cage of cards

 Chaotically clustered
cage of
cards covering
all
cynically silent
sides of life
plainly plastered
before my
persistently passing
presence of
the present day.
Thoughtlessly thrashing
out the leisurely
overlapping lanes
of possibilities
prancing through
the pressuring palms
of probability.
With a single stern stomp
taking back the cross
mask of control.
There steadily
stumbled down
the obliquely built
walls of ambiguity
freely falling at
my frivolously
fleeting feet.
Vigorously revealing
the vaguely vapid
valley of victorious
vultures who
persistently preys
upon the weak
minded ones
who decisively numb
themselves within naivety .
But still
I walk forth
ahead through
the foreboding facade
of fear
lying before me.

Echoes

Once there was a man
Who wrote beautiful music
He wrote the music because he was sad
He was sad because he was all alone

But he was noticed for his music
He ended up being loved for it
And in being loved
He lost his sadness
And his music soon after

DRIVER

Headlights on the highway
grit in tired eyes
on the road since Friday
way more lows than high
keeping it between the lines

Trading miles for money
exchanging life for time
endless days are never sunny
as I wipe off the grime
keeping it between the lines

Mirrors reflecting glaring light
while ol' Hank and Waylon play
alone another four lane night
tailgaters just won't go away
keeping it between the lines

Scent of Meat

The raw dripping pool
creeping across the mouth
delicious!

drip drip dribble dribble

No sanguine snack this-
more a Homo-blackpudding
bursting bloody bastes

The luminous ring dances
lunar lines across the
Green Man's playground
hiding wet magenta ribbons

drop! drop! splatter splash!

And the scent is wafting
And the hirsute pursuer
pines for the
metallic tang

And he finds a lone lovely
languishing in the green baize
clearing

The Lullaby Tree

Shook me a branch on the Lullaby Tree
sweet melodic air wafted by me slowly
my eyes started to close unwittingly
soft mystery of the Lullaby Tree

Hypnotised by the whisper of the Lullaby Tree
magical dreamland drifted into me
flying on clouds of heavenly reverie
the wistful sound of the Lullaby Tree

Wanted to stay forever under the Lullaby Tree
peace and serenity enveloping me
but breeze brought me back to reality
precious time spent under the Lullaby Tree

Valerie's spider

She dyed her hair
black as her Mother's lungs,
hoping to attract the beast
to someone deserving.

She went out to the porch,
the smoking lounge
kicked herself for lighting up
and noticed the grasshopper's struggle.

Insane Normality

Don't fit me in your form
For i'm far from the norm
Don't try to contain
All that's in my brain
This normality,
makes us insane
In a mad world,
only the mad are sane

TRUE REFLECTIONS--edit

TRUE REFLECTIONS

as i wander farther from myself
into dissolution
bleeding edges of annihilation
I hold to what is left
of me
in memory and recollection
where I see
my lasting and true
reflection

Whispered Endearments

Whispered endearments
tickling my ears
every breath
drawing me near

Featherlike fingers
up and down my arms
each movement charms

Kisses so soft
sailing aloft
on clouds of reverie

Lustfilled eyes
hypnotise
Stop being a tease
take me now, please

deep hurt

A deep hurt!

at times my heart weeps,
though rarely
when I see machinations
manifested in crooked minds,
seeking the fish from under the Dead Sea
when all are asleep,
wantonly
and
in pity seek a false admiration
to reach out for empathy,
callous folks still exist
I hate to say
but still

Grippe....

stalwart ice beneath our bold steps
the treachery of slopes
and the needles in our shins
the calves the wrists

we dream of natures kiss
and forelock youth
beneath a blue

we linger here behind the view
our dark wide screen
of vision care

Our pharmacy of meds
in tote We ratttle in
our winter coats

And for a day respite is
near The puffer steers
away and clear
That hissing mask
that holds us dear
like hostages so close
and near

Unbridled Desire

out for repairs
