THE WRATHFUL SEA

Her salted bludgeoning maw
swallowed vessels and galleys
with its green saline gullet of
ulcers
barnacles, and a throat full of oily
spots of acne sticky limpets

Treasures guarded by a circle
of sharks in an ocean restaurant
pinching crabs,
and swaying seaweed keeping naval
secrets.

A wave of wrathfulness, tossing
clubbing, floating ships, drowning
them into the abyss.
stripping seamen Into
skeletons with silent screams.

Supported by a howling killer
of a storm . Ripping, blowing holes
into arthritis wooden decks into oblivion
into the coldest dark depths.

Grandiose Majestic Mountain

There stood a majestic
Craggy face with razor blade
Edges of a monstrous
time honoured mountain

Turning its rocky nose up
at anything below him, robust
Jagged and risky, high stabbing
armour with White shark tip
Cut throated fins.

Bald rugged with a silent manner
cold stone as white as marshmallow
steep and strong, bold and old
broad frosted shoulders

With powdered freckles and a storm grey
complexion it wore a white necklace
and a frosted crown, made
by heaven.

AUTUMN'S CUSP

Mid October a cool day
with a northern cooling breeze.
All hints of summer gone away.
The few green leaves are just a tease.

Tomorrow will bring the first frost
so this day finds me 'neath the trees
absorbing warmth before its lost
and limbering up titanium knees.

For I'm not what I once was.
Time has seen that I am not,
So I sit on a stump to take a pause
and breathe autumn's scent which I'd forgot.

Then turn my face up to the sky
as cool front winds begin to blow.
I watch the clouds as they race by.
They leave like friends I used to know.

My eyes water from sun's glare
so I drop my head down to my chest
letting my chin settle there
while I count the ways that I am blessed.

I'm blessed with our cabin in the trees
I'm blessed with seeing one more fall.
I'm blessed with grandchildren to tease.
I'm blessed with being here at all.

I watch a squirrel climb to its nest
for now the sun is getting low
so ere' it reaches ridge's crest
I arise then turn and go.

 Cage of cards

 Chaotically clustered
cage of
cards covering
all
cynically silent
sides of life
plainly plastered
before my
persistently passing
presence of
the present day.
Thoughtlessly thrashing
out the leisurely
overlapping lanes
of possibilities
prancing through
the pressuring palms
of probability.
With a single stern stomp
taking back the cross
mask of control.
There steadily
stumbled down
the obliquely built
walls of ambiguity
freely falling at
my frivolously
fleeting feet.
Vigorously revealing
the vaguely vapid
valley of victorious
vultures who
persistently preys
upon the weak
minded ones
who decisively numb
themselves within naivety .
But still
I walk forth
ahead through
the foreboding facade
of fear
lying before me.

Echoes

Once there was a man
Who wrote beautiful music
He wrote the music because he was sad
He was sad because he was all alone

But he was noticed for his music
He ended up being loved for it
And in being loved
He lost his sadness
And his music soon after

The stream (all workshops)

This is the stream - you can see all poems on Neopoet, live, as they are created.

bright red mortality
spews onto old-ochre dirt
as guilelessness pools
into the dreamtime drawing

black skin sweats tears
in the shade-less midday sun
while lean dusty limbs
are chiselled into the foetal position
in a paroxysm of agony and fear

the sugar sack lies open
its contents
innocuously white
mixing to a gentle pink
with the spreading tide
of crimson death

a station-owner’s gift
to the colours of the dreaming
arsenic’s metal-grey
effects its cause
.

JOURNEY--updated

JOURNEY
I think it’s time
you find your way
to my front door.

Things aren’t the same
as they were before.
Today is suddenly tomorrow
and each day is
one more borrowed.

No wondering.
No guessing
No playing the odds
anymore

Yes.
I think it’s time
you take me

imagery..Personification (positive Critique WS) #1

When the flowers smile,

my heart swings

and sways

then all the words

go silent.

A metaphor is a literary figure of speech that describes a subject by asserting that it is, on some point of comparison, the same as another otherwise unrelated object.
Metaphor is a type of analogy and is closely related to other rhetorical figures of speech that achieve their effects via association, comparison or resemblance including allegory, hyperbole, and simile.

NORDIC TWILIGHT

NORDIC TWILIGHT

In the twilight of the nordic night, the robin sings,
the dawn, now not confined to morn, in balmy
evenings soft with dew, or summer's blooms
perfuming blade and branch, in mellowed
atmosphere, suffused with wine of sweet liquors.
What peace, what breath of nocturne dreams,
secure from fears and dreaded thoughts, when
winter rips and rends this gentle nature's dress.

the darkest hour'......Edit BY Judyanne

eyes drooping
away from a cloudy sky
lightening threatening
thunder rolling
a splash of daylight
as the sun breaks in
then sudden rain in full fury

folks run for shelter
in a huff and hurry
mayhem
God plays merry hell
I stand dumb-founded
spell bound
lost voice
unable to yell
the shadows move around
as they do in hell

roads vanish
and the sea swims in
a miniscule moment
time wise tsunami
ferocious

all hang upon trees
now growing atop roof tops

I was thought out thinking

I was thought out thinking…

Forgetting with Jack

we sat and listened
as his heart broke
a crack was heard
as each word spoke

he had lost sight of truth
when he was betrayed
tricked by her slight of hand
seduced with a magical cat

a bar stool found
his searching feet,
and his hand found Jack

purpose drained
as each glass emptied
reason and sanity fell away

shimmy with the sham
the glue gun bold hold
like spot welding

slap a thigh and tell
me the Hull is fresh
for frolic

Cut plasma ideology
with the tip of your intellect
like a cats tongue
sipping cream
on a polished floor
from a turquoise bowl

marvel of engineering
she moves smooth
gliding through the
sets
in her
repaired retro dress

cough up some love
to slip inside
the warm smooth
cups

its her world
and she'll
eat it up
