We expect the election will follow approximately one
week after the close of the nomination period.
It is with a heavy heart and grief we must inform
the members of neopoet.com of the loss of one of our
family members, and most brilliant poets, Lon Robert
Bruso- Lonnie.
For those that didn’t know Lonnie he was, in his own
words-
“Vietnam Vet / Hippie / Mountain Man. Outspoken yet
reclusive, un-politically correct, will defend to
the death things that I believe in. I love to write
poetry and songs, sing, fish and watch old westerns.
If I had my druthers I'd probably live 15 miles from
Bigfoot's last known whereabouts!”
He was the uncle anybody could talk to, the strident
soul who always spoke his truth. Whether it be in
his own poetry or the chat room you knew when Lonnie
was speaking. He was a wordmaster and most
importantly he spoke his mind. Whenever we lose one
of our family members a sadness glooms over us but
also a time of reflection.
Lon had the most extraordinary innate grasp of
meter, rhyme and imagery. One of the most brilliant
natural poets I have ever read. He was the kind of
man who was always eager to help in his own way.
Today a part of neopoet has been taken but it will
never be forgotten. Lonnie's memory is forever
within his poetry and his love for the written word
of the Soul. We miss you good friend wherever you
may have gone may you find the peace that you so
deserve. Lonnie promise me you won't stop giving
them hell, wherever you are.
We will be celebrating Lonnie’s life and works with
a retrospective of his works, all are welcome to
contribute.
