Evermore Inked

You’ve asked me,
"why do you cry ?"
I replied,
"only the sky knows this"

You asked,
"Do you require the blue
of day to fade?"
I replied,
"it began at dawn"

each day
my lead wears down
when fingers are scribbling with a stub
will there be anything left of me to write?
or will the lead have seeped into my veins
and my finger take over
marking the lines
of time

Now I know,
it doesn’t matter
as the sun curls to warm
the surfaces of earth
the wind bounces
off the stratosphere
singing along the equators,
a sea of lobsters crawls across
the dermis of the planet

life will go on
with or without my pencil

but my poems are evermore

We do write with an eye to the future and hope that something of us remains after our time here on Earth is done.
I am sure that someday, someone will come across this poem and say; "Wow, that was deep!" So, into the huge tome of poetry, it goes! Personally, I would leave off the last line. Let's see what the rest of them think. ~ Geez.

This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

Thanks for reading this one. I have marked time for a long time it seems but now I live in the moment. Life shouldn't be a countdown it should be more than just existing. I have booked time in a studio for April. It's time I made some more music as well. I'll send you the finished results...

I'll think on that last line. Mull it over some. As always I am open to suggestions. BTW Loved brought up he thought my Haiku was counted wrong do you think you could check. I'd be most appreciative.

In your recording venture. My most beloved pursuit. Just go in there and crush it.

I started my singing as the soprano soloist in the greater city choir a million years ago it seems though I still remember all the cantata's, opera's etc my heart lies elsewhere these days. I have some songs I want to record for my family Never enough from the Greatest showman, For Evigt by Volbeat , she used to be mine from from Waitress, Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen, Sound of silence by disturbed, Fight song by Rachel Platten, Run with me by Callum Scott also You Say by Lauren Daigle, that's just the starting off point. I know it's a eclectic mix but that's me. I can't wait to get back into the studio. I'm super excited and have been practising everyday for months. I plan to absolutely smash it.

Hugs I'll send when it's done!!.

read you. But you aggravate the shit out of me, when you infringe upon another author's time and space to complain about not being read. ~ Geezer.

I am now swaying back snd forth but I have time I will think about it. Thanks so much for reading this one. I am surprised it got reads. I thought the beginning might have been too deep and thrown people off. I am so happy some seem to have got it.

I’m not sure if the sky even knows. Devoid of answers my tears fall regardless.

Ohhhh I am so happy you liked those lines for they are some of my favourites and I don't normally like my own work I am too critical.

Thanks again for the read and your time it's appreciated

Kind regards Jayne xox
