THE NIGHT OF THE PARTY

It was the night of the party,
And all through the town.
No cops were stirring,
No narcs to be found.

The joints were all rolled,
And laid into stacks.
In hopes that we would all
Get stoned to the max.

We drank Seagram's 7,
And smoked Panama Red.
While visions of Thai-sticks
Danced in our heads.

When all of a sudden,
To the door came some knocks.
Everyone yelled, "It's the cops,
It's the cops.

But what to my wondering
Eyes did appear.
But twelve pounds of Columbian
And twelve kegs of beer.

The man alongside he
Just gave me a smile.
So, I invited him
In to party awhile.

He broke out the stash
And started to roll.
I got him a beer,
And he sparked up a bowl.

I heard him exclaim,
As he flew through the sky.
Marijuana to all and
To all a good high.

Sounds like a couple of parties we had back in the day. Flawless! Couldn't ask for better; unless I wrote it myself. Which I think I'm fixin' to do! I chuckled all the way through. Nice job! ~ Geez.

This one here is my favorite. I have to be careful with this one, it has a tendency to offend some folks. A bit of nostalgia on my part. Thanks again for the review.

the tendency to offend some, is inherent with writing of any kind, so I don't worry much about it. If you have or will read much at all of my works; you will eventually see that, with my "Killer" poems. He is a murdering vigilante with an alter-ego, a gourmet chef and a cannibal! I am cynical, I attempt to murder little children; in my poem "The Devil's Ride" and am guilty of various other transgressions against human nature. I try to balance it out with the occasional sweetness and light of a romantic poem for my wife and tender story of "Death is a Gentleman". I like your style and will be happy to read more of your "offending" works. ~ Geezer.

Thank you, Cat. The night before Christmas poem. I revised it a wee bit. I had so much fun with this one. It has a tendency to offend some people. I guess it's the Marijuana thing. I think it's one of my best poems. Glad you got a kick out of it.
