Mum... You and I

By: Rula

Together we witnessed time ebbs and tides:

we went through ups, we went through downs,

yet luckily we got each other's sides,

you and I, you and I.

Together, unwillingly, we grew old,

with devestating wrinkles, and white hair.

We both raised families, yet we're still bold

You and I, you and I.

Together we laughed, together we cried:

I uplifted your spirits, you got my tears wiped,

we stayed together, side by side,

You and, I you and I.

Together we lived for worse and better,

until Alzheimer's stole you, my bank of love,

although you promised to stay forever

You and I, you and I.

My Gold

By Mr joghe

In whom I spent my old days and nights,

Who rocked me in my cradle;

And fed my pretty mouth with a spoon,

Did weep while I should weep.

How much will I pay

For the pain you’ve taken for me?

Who worked that jumper to keep me warm;

Treated me with diffidence and respect,

Her healthy arms always be my stay,

And always admired my prudent face that filled with laughter.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

Who tired me with apology for being tiresome,

And asked twenty questions and never waited for an answer.

My timidity struck her at the first sight;

When she taught me to expect something extraordinary.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

I find such a pleasure

In obeying her commands,

That I take care to observe;

Shall soon come to bless me.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

I vow, I thought so;

Never, as among queens and princesses

In her age; to be explicit,

I’ve kept very little company

In pretty smooth dialogues with her.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

Mr. Monkey

In a chaotic world, bright and loud,
Mr. Monkey always by my side.
Whilst my parents fought, coarse and harsh,
Holding my hand tight while I would hide.

Soft and worn, his fur was my shield,
In my dreams, he made me feel safe.
Even with chicken pox and itched pain,
Mr. Monkey remained close, all relief.

Years wondered by, and life changed be,
Mr. Monkey, forgotten, unseen.
Love bloomed once, then heartbreak arrived,
I balled hard, feeling lost and alone.

Self immolation as sacrificial bleating lamb
promises eternal martyrdom
awaiting voluntary die hard protester,
where countless vestal virgins provide blissfulness
(think Playboy mansion on steroids)
synonymous with delightful
grand view garden of Eden
transmuting mortal flesh
(clothed in lovely bones)
into burnt offering
mummifying and searing
once robust sacred heart
courtesy hungry, and angry forked flames.

Solar eclipse

Can we have our solar eclipse?
A moment for just two souls
A moment where we leave
All the pain behind
I could be the moon
You could be the sun
You glistening so brightly
That I can't even dare to look
For even a fleeting moment
But if i give up
My moonlight will fade
For eternity
So can we at least have
One delicate moment
One solar eclipse

Fury

Fury

A Great Lady

G
To touch without shame,
Em
To talk without fear,
C
To listen and be heard,
D
Is something I hold near.

G
A love we know will end,
C
Makes it a special love indeed,
D
A friend, a companion,
C G
I am sure we all need.

For my accomplished accomplice

Smile stay be with me always
sexy lady eternal flame light of my life
wonderful haunting aching crying raging at imagined deceit
coming up for air with a smile and your golden eyes

You touched a place no one reached before
nights days all your crazy ways
wise alive carefree smile
companion friend don’t let this ever end

We’ve got so far to go
farther still when we get there
but I wouldn’t want to get there
with anyone but you

When All Eyes Can See

Of birds unsung, of unripened trees,
Of little drops, crystal tears striving to form,
Of something small, wriggling bees,
All is known a thing , something it becomes after the form

And we soar to sour, when life takes turn,
And a minute last, an ever best,
And as rough gold through furnace, O, what fine return
Another in down so cast, another in zest.

She Loves

She is so complicated:
Tying the Gordian knot
Suiting the charlatan trot

Closing the door, and even more,
Tying the hand, changing the stand,
Reading the future of her man.

But she loves
And gives the best thereof.

So beautifully simple is she.

Fear

Time is a haunting spirit
It petrifies me to my core
Despite my efforts, I can't draw near to you
Held back by fear's grasp
Yet if I remain motionless
I'll never offer comfort
Or listen to you for hours
Divvy my counsel
Bring you joy
Wipe your tears
Surrender myself wholly
Why, then, does dread immobilize me
From drawing near to a rose
That blooms devoid of thorn's

The High Seas

whitecaps kiss the stern as he swoops, to the herring's reluctant surrender

The whitebait mass to an unlikely ruse, a "Grey Nurse " circles , becomes their defender

As this beauty unfolds to nature's final display , 'neath the waves of a piscatorial splendour

Then in fair weather or storm as this swell creates new form ,

The infinite sea shall ne'er give up of her treasures .
