To Unlove You

I'm learning how
To unlove you

It hurts worse than loving you,
Knowing you don't love me back.

Abandoned

Submitted by Mary Beth Magee

She bobbed there in the gentle swell,
The little boat I knew so well.
The sail wrapped tight along the boom
Gave me a feeling of dark doom.
I saw no anchor chain hung down
To stop her, lest she run aground.
No one sat in her empty bow.
No hand controlled her keel just now.
A gentle breeze set her to rock.
How did she get loose from the dock?
As the breeze caused her to turn,
I spotted paint along her stern.
Rough letters where my name had been -
The words now looked like "Mortal Sin."
What had he done in dark of night?
Was he convicted by dawn's light?
Then in the reeds beside the dock…
What I saw gave me quite a shock.
A body, face down, on the lake,
Could it be him, for heaven's sake?
Please, no, I prayed and backed away.
What pushed him so, I cannot say.
I didn't dream that he would dare.
I only know I lost him there.

Neopoet Weekly 06/09/24 to 06/15/24 Winner!

This week’s winner is Lavender with the following poem

Winning Poem

Magic

Submitted by Lavender

A falling star settled on my rose,
a diamond dipped in velvet clothes.
I dared not touch the pure gift
sent from heaven, so swift,
but let it rest there
in such sweet air
and comply
to my
wish.

Neopoet Weelky 06/02/24 to 06/08/24 Winner!

This week’s contest winner is hippiemoon with following poem:

Archeology

By: hippiemoon

Years from now,
We will be dead and buried.
Your laugh nothing more than
A whisper in the wind,
A breeze carrying off dandelion wishes.

Our headstones will rest together,
Aging together, as we did in life.
Tears from our loved ones will mix with rain
And our memory will fade with the engravings.

And years from now,
We’re forgotten by everyone but the Earth.
They will dig our bodies up
And find our bones entwined in each other’s arms.

Something New

Rain rushes from the skies
Mixing with a single tear
The wind cuts through
Like every doubt, every fear

Lightning shatters my peace
Like the pieces of my mind
A distant thunderclap mocks
Of the girl I was and left behind

A tornado rages in my head
Demolishing my peace and joy
I plaster on a smile for you,
But it's just a tactic I employ

The fear paralyzes my heart
Yet I'm so tired of being afraid
It is time to get up and fight
Before my resolve starts to fade

My fingers curl around my sword
I lift it high, I've got my armor on
I bring it down with all my strength
Until the shattered pieces are gone

There is no fixing the girl I was
No use in buying time with glue
The only solution is to shatter her
And forge with fire Something New

E R G O M A N I A .. S U P I N E N E S S

hair spun in the weave of air
we are rushing in the last of summer breath
our landscape climb
like a wave primed

dark and hungry as the night
while sunlight scatters
at its edge
that races

a great weight
chasing us in dreams

I hear the cry through all
the miles
and hold my breath
awake
waiting for the fall
like snow breaking free of a tin
roof

Our avalanche of words
frothing
we place palm up
to catch the rain

Neopoet Renga 2

Summer storms have passed
autumn is on the doorstep
falling leaves arrive

Holding our sweet creamy dreams
let them not shatter on floor

Trust dreams quiescent
muse remaining autumn scene
more timely imbue

Dreams of cluttered entrances
pumpkin head scarecrows, cobwebs

Meadows glowing gold
harvest moon drifts slowly by
sunsets of our dreams

Cool evenings sweet serenade
children kick the fallen leaves

Adolescents roll
windbreakers breaking dry leaves
innocent first kiss

Workshop:

walk..silently

I see you from a distance
I hark for you
my yells fall on deaf ears
the window pane the barrier

I step out in the open
the snow chills
but the heart’s warmth thrills
I hasten
the wilderness slaps the breeze
reminds me of stark nudity
as I have left the brief
naked in mind, body and soul

Oh! Lord I am still unable to stalk
I now walk alone
return to my cove
a blessed
dark
cold
merciless dungeon

saddened by my folly
in thinking that you would hear me

Maintain The Rage

On a warm, clear spring day the phone rang,
I said, "I'm terrific, never better, and you?"
I was told
"There'll be no weather tomorrow"

No weather, any more, ever.

Jason said "maintain the rage"
and we all know that that means more

B U T T E R F L I E . . P I N S

not in a dream
but you were there
you

alive..

history rising like ashs
smoking whorls
dervish winds

we looked up eachs
souls
touch to touch
tete to tete

while the blue pearl
of sadness climbed
down upon us in a mist

great waves of betrayal
in winter rains

you are pinning
remnant poems
like skins of hearts

Your Butterfly Pins
in a cup you make me
hold

you look up
I fall in
this world

again

MOVING TARGET --FINAL RE-WRITE

MOVING TARGET

My mind races
at the speed of light
my body can’t keep up.
I’m left behind.

I push the day
in a heavy mist of grey
of Pain’s slow.

I do and I go
I run
but the terror
like sudden electricity
electric white
kills as it strikes..

I dare

I have the nerve and the verve
to admit
that bluntness doesn’t permit,
the safe passage
towards a kingdom
albeit we all wait for one….

no one can be as friendly with you
as you are with some,
nor can you ever be
an integral part of handsome

for you are cussed and obdurate
they say a hard nut to crack,
by anyone
so to say ….

Teach Me More (Mindful Memorable WS # 6)

you taught me to soar
without wings
to paint with words
 to sleep
 on the clouds
to hug and kiss the stars
 to sway
and bask the best of the day
even if it were dark
you taught me
every little hearty bit

almost everything I want

but you never
told me
where- when you leave
to keep
my heart

The words have run their course

The words have overflown
And I look back to see dreams I cannot comprehend
For my mind has grown ill
And my own thoughts may have betrayed me

I am reluctant to express my emotion
In fear that they may consume me

I have been guided through strange roads already
With only my own words to blame

I have become afraid
That I have opened my mind too much

Hear me when I say
The mind is a place of your own making
Give it enough power and it shall think for itself

Grrrrrrrl for Mia Zapata

Grrrrl for Mia Zapata by RW

I float forward
welcome
no rules
love is the
razor code
that belongs to them

Though she is gone, I went to her
went to her
went to her
we are free
my ghost left me that day
it's more complicated now
buenos noches
buenos dias
she is here 29 now......she raids undefeated

in 17 hours, her blood, maroon

drips off the bottom step
